A New Dress For Molly

I have finally finished this dress for Molly that I started probably 6 months ago!

The pattern came from this this lovely book, which was a birthday present last year.

The fit is not perfect, it's rather wide yet already a bit on the short side for her so if I make another I'll definitely adapt the pattern!  However, I'm really pleased with the overall look of it. I love the flowers and am really pleased that I learned to do applique on my sewing machine for the leaves.  In fact I'm quite tempted to start another one right away to get the pattern right.  I picked up a remnant of pink needlecord fabric last week, I think there's enough for a little dress, so maybe that will be my next project.  I quite fancy doing some more applique, a little bird this time maybe?

A Teeny Tiny Scotty Dog

I came across a photo of a really cute little felt Scotty dog on Allsorts (a lovely blog by Jenny Harris) on Friday evening.  I was really in the mood to make something and this was a nice quick project for which I already had virtually everything I needed - perfect!

I wasted no time in printing out the pattern and getting started.  I hadn't envisaged it quite so tiny but that is the size the pattern came out and I was eager to get started before Lucy wanted feeding again (my computer skills aren't the best so working out how to enlarge it may have used up all my time!)

I'm really pleased with how he turned out!  Molly has claimed this one already - and helped to choose the ribbon for his lead but I think I'll be making more. I quite fancy a bigger fabric version as a doorstop.

First completed project this year!

A knitted teddy bear for my nephew:

I made quite a few of these little bears last year.  They are very quick and simple to make, just a straight piece of knitting really. A good way of using up a big bag of toy wool I was given too!

The pattern is from the 'Teddies for Tragedies' website:  http://www.teddiesfortragedies.org.uk   I started by making a couple to send to children in Uganda but they have also been a hit closer to home with Molly and her friends.  I'd been meaning to make one for her cousin for a while as he's a big teddy bear fan but other projects with deadlines kept coming up!  Anyway he has it now and I'm told he's pleased with it!
